"What a wonderful experience! I signed up for Hattie's ladies' night session expecting to make a neat project and spend time with some fun ladies - I got so much more! I entered Hattie's studio space by going up a set of stairs with cascading twinkling lights and then was warmly greeted by Hattie and her husband. The second-floor studio is artfully decorated, spacious and inviting with plenty of room for a group to move about comfortably. The two large tables in the room were neatly set up with all the tools and materials we would need to create a hammered metal pendant necklace and a pair of twisted and hammered metal spiral dangle earrings. Hattie had set up a colorful spread of delicious finger foods on side tables and there were plenty of glasses for everyone to enjoy the wine that they had brought. Hattie was so welcoming to the group as she explained our projects and showed us examples of what we could expect to create. She and her assistant, Beth, expertly guided us through the steps we would take to create our unique pieces of art and soon hammers were moving and the room was filled with laughter and the noise of metal hitting metal as we shaped and textured our pieces. Hattie and Beth were happy to offer advice as we saw our jewelry making skills evolving and our creativity flowing. It was fascinating to watch how each woman created something slightly different from the same materials and techniques - I think we were all impressed with what we could do, whether we had some experience with metalcraft or not. I finished the evening feeling like I had learned some fantastic new skills, cultivated a new appreciation for Hattie's artistry, made some new friends and created some beautiful jewelry that I am so proud to wear. If you are thinking of trying one of Hattie's classes - DO IT!  What a unique and fun way to celebrate a birthday, bachelorette or wedding shower, an anniversary or just the fun of having a Saturday night out with friends old and new. I'm looking forward to the next one! "
